CPICL Fellow Professor Emerita Jennifer Corrin facilitated a series of workshops in Vanuatu

In February 2026, CPICL Fellow Professor Emerita Jennifer Corrin and Professor Sue Farran (Newcastle University) facilitated a series of workshops for the Vanuatu Law Reform Commission, exploring critical issues relating to children’s rights, matrimony and the Presidential Prerogative of Mercy.

The workshops examined challenges arising from current legislation and brought together representatives from the VLRC, the Office of the Public Solicitor, the Ministry for Education, and the University of the South Pacific, supporting collaborative and informed approaches to legal reform.

This work reflects the objectives of CPICL’s Legal Pluralism Program, which supports research and engagement on law and legal change across plural legal orders in the Pacific and beyond.
