The free screening of 'Peace Unveiled' (by PBS), a documentary about three Afghan women at the forefront of negotiating women's rights in Afghanistan, will be followed by a Panel discussion with distinguished guests and Q&A with the audience.

The panel discussion includes UQ Postdoctoral Research Fellow Dr Melanie O’Brien, along with Kay Danes OAM, Katrina Elliot, David Freeman, and chaired by Dr Natalia Szablewska.

This event is part of the Women, War & Peace series at Southern Cross University.

About the Series‘Women, War & Peace challenges the conventional wisdom that war and peace is men’s domain. With depth and complexity, the five-part series spotlights the stories of women in conflict zones from Bosnia to Afghanistan and Colombia to Liberia, placing women at the center of an urgent dialogue about conflict and security, and re-framing our understanding of modern warfare.’
