About this event

Join your fellow first-years for an exclusive UQ introductory welcome experience to the legal profession, hosted at the Supreme Court of Queensland.


You'll hear from esteemed members of the UQ Law Alumni Association, barristers, solicitors, judges and criminal law prosecutors.

Event Program

  • Morning Session 8:30am - 12:00pm
  • Afternoon Session 12:30pm - 4:00pm

Please select one session only when registering for your ticket. Places are strictly limited.

Please arrive promptly at the start of your session time and make yourself known to UQ Law School staff to check-in. Attendees will be allocated to smaller groups after Element 1.

The groups will then rotate to two other elements from the list below which take place in separate nearby locations.

Element 1 - Banco Court - Introduction to the Queensland Legal System and The Judiciary

Element 2 - Criminal Courtroom - Introduction to a Criminal Trial

Element 3 - Supreme Court - Observe a Trial or Sentencing Hearing

Element 4 - Level 16 Quay Central Chambers - The Barristers

Element 5 - Supreme Court Library Conference Room - Pro Bono and The Legal Profession

  • Please be mindful that you may need to walk a reasonable distance to reach each session's location.
