The BABSEACLE Externship Clinic clinic will take place 26 June 2017 – 21 July 2017 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Places are open for four LLB students. You will contribute in many ways including:

  • Supporting the development of access to justice and pro bono initiatives across the Asia region, most notably the 6th Asia Pro Bono Conference in Sept/Oct 2017 and the 2018 Asia Access to Justice Week;
  • Access to justice roundtable support;
  • Access to justice organisational network building;
  • Supporting legal research related to access to counsel and legal service providers for vulnerable and marginalised persons and communities. Example thematic areas include; women’s rights, indigenous rights, rights of drug users, migrant worker rights, disability rights, environmental justice and many more.

Tuition is paid to UQ. Accommodation and administrative fees apply and are paid directly to BABSEACLE and are approximately $2,000AUD. More information regarding program fees can be found in the program flyer.

All interested students are strongly encouraged to apply for an OS-HELP Loan with the support of UQ Abroad. The deadline for OS-Help loans for overseas study commencing May to October is Wednesday 15 March.  PLEASE NOTE: OS-Help loan applications can be withdrawn without penalty if the student’s application is unsuccessful, so it is best to apply at the outset.
