LAWASIA Journal

Law Asia LogoAbout LAWASIA Journal

LAWASIA Journal is a leading international, peer-reviewed journal with high circulation in the Asia Pacific region.

The Journal deals with legal issues and developments in the Asia Pacific region. Articles in recent editions have considered legal developments in India, Malaysia, China, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore and a range of other nations. Articles addressing transnational or broader regional issues are also welcome.

The Journal is produced by the Centre for Public, International and Comparative Law on behalf of LAWASIA, the law association for Asia and the Pacific. LAWASIA is a professional association of representatives of bar councils, law associations, individual lawyers, law firms and corporations principally from the Asia Pacific.

LAWASIA Journal editions

LAWASIA Journal is published once a year. All contributions to the Journal are subject to a rigorous process of peer review.

The Editors invite submission of articles for the 2018 edition of the Journal, to be published in late 2018. The Journal welcomes submissions on all topics concerning legal issues and developments in the Asia Pacific. As well as articles on substantive topics, we also welcome review articles and shorter book reviews.

The Journal aims to publish significant works of scholarship that make an original contribution to law and policy analysis. Every article submitted for consideration is subject to a formal process of peer review. The refereeing process typically takes around six weeks, after which authors will be notified of the Editors' decision.

There is no maximum or minimum length for submissions, but articles (including review articles) between 5,000 and 10,000 words in length are preferred. Book reviews should be a maximum of 1,500 words. Manuscripts should be double spaced with generous margins. Style and referencing of submissions should conform to the style outlined in the Australian Guide to Legal Citation (AGLC)

Submission of manuscripts will be taken to imply that they contain original unpublished material and are not currently being considered for publication elsewhere. Subject to contrary written agreement with the author, copyright in all material accepted for publication will be assigned to LAWASIA. The deadline for submissions for the 2018 edition is 30 June 2018. Contributions should be submitted by email to Dr Enshen Li at e.li@law.uq.edu.au as an attachment in Microsoft Word format. Submissions in PDF format or which do not comply with the AGLC cannot be accepted.

Enquiries about submissions to the Journal should be directed to the editors. Email is the preferred mode of communication.
