Pacific Partnership for the development of academic writing

Professor Emerita, and CPICL Fellow, Jennifer Corrin, is engaged in a Pacific Partnership (Universities of Queensland, the South Pacific and Newcastle University, UK).

Funded by the British Academy, this partnership of academics is part of a wider initiative aimed at developing and enhancing the research and writing skills of s global south scholars in recognition of their underrepresentation in many academic journals and publications.

Workshops are to be held in November on the Emalus and Laucala campuses of the University of the South Pacific and will cover topics such as:

  • Getting started on undertaking research for producing academic outputs
  • Putting pen to paper and starting to write
  • Different ways of doing and narrating research
  • Learning about academic protocols and practices
  • Developing a research idea and turning it into a publishable output.
