LIDC AU & NZ’s 2nd E-conference: Revitalising Competition Law and Policy in Australia and New Zealand
The theme of the e-conference is 'Revitalising Competition Law and Policy in Australia and New Zealand'.
Competition law and policy are central pillar in our collective effort to foster economic dynamism, enhance consumer interests, preserve market pluralism, and ensure resilience. The e-conference theme has consciously drawn on the title of work of the Commonwealth, state and territory government in to revitalise the National Competition Policy. However, this is but one of several recent and ongoing initiatives and studies examining to improve competition outcomes in both Australia and New Zealand. The developments – in relation to digital platforms, mergers, abuse of bargaining power, unfair trade practices, infrastructure or government practices, geopolitical upheaval and so forth – raise questions about whether a new conceptual paradigm may be taking shape.
The e-conference will provide a forum to examine recent developments in and the future trajectory of competition law and policy from regulatory, practice and research perspectives.
More information on the e-conference and registration will be circulated at a later date.
