For guidance on admission to legal practice in Queensland, you should carefully read the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board information on the Queensland Law Society's website. While the Law School is unable to provide advice on admission or PLT pathways, the Law School Administration team can assist with requests for academic records and certification.

Information about admission to legal practice in Queensland

Admission requirements might change from time to time and you must refer to the current advice issued by the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board.

The Law School does not provide advice about admission to legal practice. You are expected to read and understand the admission requirements as issued by the Legal Practitioners Admission Board prior to applying for admission.

You can get a copy of your academic transcript, degree certificates and other documents by following the steps on the my.UQ website.

Obtaining an Academic Conduct Report for Admission to Legal Practice

If you are a former student and have been awarded an LLB(Hons) by The University of Queensland, or if you have undertaken Laws courses at The University of Queensland, you can request an Academic Conduct Report for the purposes of admission to legal practice.

Academic Conduct Reports are not provided by the Law School.

You should contact the University of Queensland Student Conduct and Grievance Resolution Unit (SCGRU) directly to request an Academic Conduct Report. All requests must be submitted via email to studentconduct@uq.edu.au. Note in both the subject line and the body of the email that an Academic Conduct Report is requested for the purposes of admission to legal practice. Entry to Practical Legal Training

Refer to the current information provided by the Legal Practitioners Admission Board regarding entry requirements for Practical Legal Training (PLT).

Should you wish to make an application for early commencement of PLT, you must refer to the advice provided by the PLT provider about eligibility requirements. The Law School will not provide advice about PLT. However, the Law School can provide a letter certifying completion of Laws subjects within the course of study towards completion of an LLB(Hons) at UQ on request.
