Associate Professor Rina Syahrulla
Dr Rina is Head of Post-graduate Studies, Department of Law at the Universitas Internasional Batam Indonesia, Riau Islands Province, Indonesia. She also heads its Women Study Center, under the Research and Community Service Institution of Universitas Internasional Batam. She works for gender mainstreaming, laws and policies for officials of the local governments (Batam City and Riau Islands Province) and is a keynote/guest speaker in various national and international seminars/webinars.
Dr Syahrullah completed her Bachelor of Laws at Universitas Hasannuddin Makassar in Indonesia (SH) before undertaking a Master of Comparative law followed by a PhD at the TC Beirne School of Law. Her thesis was on ‘Comparative Law relating to International Commercial Arbitration'. Her research is in International Law, Business Law, Islamic Law, and Human Rights. She is a National Expert of Indonesia for Migration Issues sponsored by ASEAN Secretariat, European Union and ILO, and is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Law and Policy Transformation.
