Lawyering in the bush
Duration:
February 2016–December 2017
Funding source:
The University of Queensland
A pilot study to assess the extent of an (anecdotally reported) ‘emerging trend’ of recently qualified solicitors establishing solo practices in rural, regional and remote (RRR) areas in Queensland and parts of northern NSW. It also seeks to investigate the reasons why lawyers work in regional areas, providing access to legal services and the challenges in the regions they work.
The project will collect unique demographic and qualitative information in the selected regions.
