Regional Clinical Placements

This Winter 2024, the UQ Pro Bono Centre will again be offering a round of regional placements for LAWS5180 Clinical Legal Education, as part of the Centre's Regional, Rural and Remote (RRR) Justice Project. Through the RRR Justice Project, the Centre aims to highlight the exciting career opportunities available for legal practitioners in regional, rural and remote Australia.

The students on placement will be shadowing several highly experienced and well-respected community lawyers. This is an outstanding for-credit placement opportunity (LAWS5180) to get hands-on experience in the diverse practice of a regional community legal centre: participating in client interviews, legal research, project work, community engagement, and more, under close supervision.

The regional clinical program will involve a two-week intensive clinical placement and will be offered at two community legal centres based in regional Queensland.
