Law School Parent Open House

Attend a law lecture and see the law school from the student perspective. 

Professor Sarah Derrington, Dean of Law and Head of the TC Beirne School of Law cordially invites parents and guardians to an Open House on Tuesday 22 August 2017. 

This is an opportunity to sit in on a law lecture, see the Law School’s newly refurbished building, meet fellow parents of law students and speak with staff to learn about the Law School community.

Seminar One - No Sleeping in the Waiting Room
Dr Mark Burdon
An opportunity for parents to experience the first activity students covered in this year’s Foundations of Law course. The activity introduces students to the complexity of legal reasoning and begins contemplation of the question ‘what is law?’.

Seminar Two - Evidence and Proof
Dr Caitlin Goss
Dr Goss’s seminar touches on more advanced subjects in the LLB(Hons) degree and will introduce guests to issues in evidence and proof. Dr Goss is a UQ LLB alumna and Rhodes Scholar.
