CPICL Hosted Seminar titled ‘Current Challenges in Law and Religion in Indonesia’ presented by Associate Professor Nadirsyah Hosen
On 17 October 2024, CPICL held the seminar that examined the future of Indonesia, as the country undergoes significant transformations with the establishment of its new capital, Nusantara, and the inauguration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Amid these pivotal developments, the seminar addressed the religious and legal challenges confronting Indonesia as the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation.
Associate Professor Nadirsyah Hosen, a distinguished scholar from Melbourne University and a CPICL External Fellow, delivered an in-depth analysis of the ongoing religious challenges in Indonesia following the 2024 General Election. He also examined the potential appointment of new ministers under President Subianto’s administration and how these changes could shape Indonesia's legal and religious landscape moving forward.
