Sophie is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the University of Queensland. She has been interested in maritime law for many years, bolstered by an interest in shipping from a historical angle. She is hoping to continue to research in this area in future.
Since 2019 Sophie has, on behalf of the Maritime Law Association of Australia and New Zealand, contributed case digests to the Comité Maritime Internationale (CMI) conventions databases project based at the Centre for Maritime Law, National University of Singapore. In 2021 Sophie is a co-student editor of the Australian and New Zealand Maritime Law Journal responsible to the MLAANZ Conference paper archive project.
