Researcher biography

Dr Jahid Hossain Bhuiyan is currently a Humboldt research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL) and an External Fellow of the UQ Schhol of Law Centre for Public, International and Comparative Law. He served as an Associate Professor at the Department of Law and Justice, Southeast University, Bangladesh before coming to the MPIL. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Oxford, UK; Cardiff University, UK; Emory University, USA; and University of British Columbia, Canada.

Dr Bhuiyan holds a PhD in law from the University of Queensland, Australia and an LLM from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium.
