Incoming exchange and study abroad
Many elective courses in the LLB(Hons) degree, as well as many postgraduate courses, assume that students already have some knowledge of general common law principles and/or Australian law. These courses are generally suitable for students who have completed prior legal studies in a common law jurisdiction, such:
- New Zealand
- Canada
- the United Kingdom
- the United States.
Students whose prior legal studies have been in non-common law legal systems, including many European and Asian jurisdictions, should select from the courses identified as suitable for students from non-common law backgrounds. These courses do not require the same level of prior knowledge of common law principles or Australian law.
The Law School reserves the right to cancel courses on the basis of low enrolment. A review of course offerings will be conducted in February and July each year. Students who have enrolled in cancelled courses prior to the date of cancellation will be notified by email.
If you have questions about the courses being offered, email lawenrolments@law.uq.edu.au.
