As part of this commitment, the school offers students a number of prizes and scholarships annually. Prizes or scholarships that require an application to be made are advertised by the school.

Bachelor of Laws (LLB)

Available to domestic students enrolled in or enrolling in the LLB(Hons) program.

Available to domestic students enrolled in or enrolling in the LLB(Hons) program.

Postgraduate Coursework Scholarship

Available to international students enrolled in or enrolling in the LLM or MICLaw programs.

McCullough Robertson Endowed Scholarship for Law Students

Available to currently enrolled LLB or LLB(Hons) domestic students with a social, physical or economic disadvantage.

The Richard Cooper Scholarship

Available to domestic students enrolled in or enrolling in the Master of Laws (LLM) program or a Research Higher Degree (RHD).

The J.M. Donnelly Scholarship

This scholarship encourages and supports female students of Samoan heritage to undertake studies in law.

The Endowed Dr J & Dr M Fulcher Scholarship in Law

This scholarship provides opportunities for academically qualified indigenous students who are economically disadvantaged.

BEL faculty scholarships

UQ Link Program

These scholarships provide assistance to students who have experienced educational disadvantage as a result of financial hardship, and are assessed for eligibility by QTAC at time of application.

The Aurora Project offers a number International Indigenous scholarships.

The Bar Association of Queensland Scholarship

The purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage and support students from a financially disadvantaged background who wish to study Law or are studying Law at the University of Queensland.

Law school prizes

Most prizes are automatically awarded to students on the basis of the greatest proficiency in a particular course or courses. With the exception of The University of Queensland Law Society Medal for Outstanding Achievement, these prizes are automatically awarded ie students are not required to submit an application.

Allens Prize for Overall Excellence

Eligible students are those who IN 2017 completed the last of their compulsory level 1, 2 and 3 courses for the LLB program. Applications closed.

Pro Bono Publico Award

Recognises and celebrates one graduating student each year who has made an exceptional contribution to the community through their pro bono legal work. Available on nomination for law students who graduate in 2017.

Research scholarships and awards

The Research Scholarships Office in the University’s Graduate School administers the major research scholarship schemes for students undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master of Philosophy (MPhil).

Owen Fletcher Postgraduate Research Publication Award

Details of the Award will be made available to all RHD students when applications are called for each year.

UQ Summer & Winter Research Scholarship Programs

This experience provides students with the opportunity to work with a researcher in a formal research environment during vacation periods.
