UQ-UZH Double Law Degree Program

First Semester

Remain enrolled at UQ and continue to pay tuition fees or defer HECS-HELP payments to UQ. No additional fees to UZH.

Second Semester

Pay tuition directly to UZH as the host institution.

Students are liable for all costs associated with travel, accommodation, insurance, visa and living expenses.

To apply, you must:

• Have completed all compulsory courses for the UQ LLB(Hons) (and any other degree requirements if in a dual program).
• Have only 8 UQ units of Level 5 LAWS flexible core courses outstanding at the time of departure.
• Hold a minimum LAWS cGPA of 4.5 at the time of application. Final approval is at BEL Faculty discretion.

Only 4 places are offered each year.

Deadlines

31 May for Semester 1 of the following year.

31 October for Semester 2 of the following year.

Steps

1. Email exchange@bel.uq.edu.au to book an appointment with the BEL International Mobility Manager to discuss eligibility and study plan prior to application.
2. Follow the application instructions on the UQ Student Exchange website.
3. Include a statement of intent and all other required supporting documents.

Notification

August for Semester 1 exchange.

February for Semester 2 exchange.

• Follow the recommended study plan to complete your degree within the program timeframe.
• Maintain a minimum LAWS GPA of 4.5 until departure.

Selected students will receive assistance from UZH with enrolment, visa, and accommodation.

Suggested study plan for a student enrolled in the LLB (Hons) and one other bachelor’s degree program (from 2017) at UQ (dual program).

** students will initially be admitted as “Mobilitätsstudierende” (exchange student) in their first semester at UZH and then transition into the Master of Law upon fulfillment of their UQ LLB(Hons) degree requirements. The full-time study load at UZH (equivalent to 8 UQ units) is 30 ECTS.
