The TC Beirne School of Law and the Caxton Legal Centre Inc held a forum at the Banco Court on October 5 as part of the Justice in Focus series to explain and explore the contemporary socio-legal issues relating to Australia’s visa cancellation regime. The Panel was chaired by ABC RN Big Ideas presenter Paul Barclay and included barrister Julian Burnside AO QC, Mark Burgess the CEO of the Police Federation of Australia, and Associate Professor Peter Billings from the University of Queensland.
The discussion will air on ABC RN in the coming weeks. Associate Professor Billings subsequently featured in the NZ media discussing critical aspects of Australia’s visa cancellation laws and their application to New Zealanders.
