Aspiring law students receive offers to study at UQ

Congratulations to the high school graduates who have received QTAC offers to study law at The University of Queensland.

The TC Beirne School of Law is preparing to welcome the new wave of first-year students in February, following the major QTAC offer round released today.

Enrolments span across the Bachelor of Laws (Hons) program and dual programs at UQ.

Acting Head of School Professor Rick Bigwood said the School had recently introduced a revised curriculum to ensure students receive the highest quality and most relevant legal educational experience.

“We congratulate all our new students and look forward to welcoming them at Orientation Week in a few weeks’ time,” he said.  

“Ranked in the world’s top 50, the School of Law’s programs has small group settings and low student-to-teacher ratios allowing our students to build their professional network and benefit from a highly-collaborative learning environment.”

Students will commence their first day of university on Monday, 12 February as part of UQ’s Orientation Week activities.  

First-year law students are invited to attend the following welcome events:

Monday, 12 February – LLB Welcome for First Year Law Students (compulsory).

Tuesday, 13 February – Undergraduate Supreme Court Visit for First Year Law students (compulsory). Registration required.

Wednesday, 14 February – Faculty of Business, Economics and Law Undergraduate Student Welcome (compulsory). 

Monday 20 – Friday 24 February – Law Library Tour

Thursday, 22 February – First Year Gelato Welcome event. Registration required.

Commencing post-graduate law students are invited to attend the following welcome events:

Monday, 12 February – International Postgraduate Coursework Academic Advising Session

Wednesday, 14 February – Postgraduate Welcome Reception 2018. Registration required.
