A UQ law researcher says stronger legal frameworks to protect mangroves could help contribute to Australia’s emission reduction targets and trading regimes, and protect coastal communities from extreme weather events.
UQ academics will undertake research in conjunction with Logan City Council, the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services, and the Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney-General to design and evaluate implementation of a Community Justice Centre.
