This competition is focused on international commercial law and arbitration. Arbitration is the business community's preference for resolving international commercial disputes and legal practitioners who are skilled in this area are highly sought-after. Participants will be required to seek resolution to a fictitious problem in a simulated courtroom setting.

The 2023 moot will be run virtually via the online platform Zoom over four days, on 4, 5, 11 and 12 September. Each team will compete in two preliminary rounds during the first two days, once as claimant and once as respondent. The elimination rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals and grand final will take place on days three and four.

The rounds will be judged by legal practitioners who have competed in the Vis Moot or similar moots. The grand final will be judged by experts within arbitration. Find out more from the Deakin Moot website.

This team will be mentored by academic staff, practitioners and senior mooting students. Up to three students will be selected for this team.
