The competition is open to all students studying law and is limited to eight competing teams.

The first day of the competition will be held at McCullough Robertson Lawyers. The Semi and Grand Final will be held in the Brisbane District Court and will be followed by a networking function where competitors will be able to network with industry professionals.

Participation in the QELA Moot provides students with the following unique benefits:

  • Competition judges will be a mix of sitting and retired Planning and Environment Court Judges and respected members of the profession.
  • Each team will receive a two-hour mentoring session with a barrister and lawyer in the lead up to the competition. This will be your opportunity to ask any questions you may have from experienced members of the profession.

The competition problem will be released four weeks prior to the competition start date.

The team will be coached by Associate Professor Justine Bell-James.
