Hosted by the UNSW Law Society, the UNSW Law Skills Competition allows students to gain exposure in competing and enhancing their practical legal skills and critical analysis in negotiation and client interviewing.

Our negotiation competition uses a lawyer/client format. This means each team will consist of one lawyer, providing a legal and process voiced, and one client, owning the commercial and personal voice. This is a great opportunity to understand how negotiations work in practice.

The competition will consist of three preliminary rounds, with the highest-scoring teams progressing to the semi-finals and finals.

The competition will be held in an online format 4-5 September 2021.

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded peers from across Australia and to improve your negotiating and client interviewing skills as we invite industry professionals to judge the competitions.

No specific experience is required and we encourage all students to apply regardless of their negotiating/client interviewing familiarity, however novice negotiators/client interviewers are especially encouraged to apply.

Applications for the 2021 competition are now closed
